I'rn not //just saying tbat because 1 arn an ex-retailer. It is Vthe tirne of year that tbe cornrunity really shines. A lot of the Chamnber members bave been stock- ing their stores in bopes tbat tbeir neigbbours ,&ill like tbeir assortments, and are persuaded to do their shopping in town. Other members look at this time as a bit of a break. A tirne to relax from tbe constant competitive pressure, spend time witb ernployees and generally refo- cus tbernselves on the other aspects of tbeir lives. At tbe annual meeting the otber night, I tried to review wbat the Chamber and its members had accornplisbed in the last year. I had to stop half way tbrough as I realized tbere was not nearly enough tirne to get tbrougb tbe list. It was a great list. I guess that rny Christmnas present "Chamber style" was driving west on the 401 highway and seeing the new "Escarpment Country" tourist sign near Trafalgar Road. It was a concrete exarnple of wbat sorne of our members had planned and accornplisbed. Tbe dedicated efforts of each committee bave contributed to making this one of the best years the Chamber bas bad.In recognitiun uf their efforts, 1 would like to take this opportunity to thank the chairs and volunteers on tbe fol- lowing cornrittees: Breakfast/Serninars Business After Hours Escarprnent Country Tourisrn Golf Comrnittee Governrnent Relations Marketing & Communications Membership Services Milton Farmers' Market Special Events As the Treasurer said in bis remarks at the Annual Meeting, it now allows us to start developing new pro- grarns to put more back in the cornmunity.
