He was editar ai The Evangelical Baptisi, a church magazine for severai yeara. In 1968, he was granted the hanarary degree ai Dactar ai Divinity by Central Baptisi Seminary. In 1995, Dr. Armstrong was bereaved by the deaih ai his beioved wiie ai 61 yeara, Helen Esher Hayes.
