REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The Peel, Halton and Dufferin District of Human Resources Development Canada is currently in the process of identifying qualified organizations who are interested in providing one or more of the following services throughout our Community. Organizations must have a proven track record in the delivery of employment services to unemployed adults. Providers must be established in the Peel, Halton and Dufferin areas for a minimum of one year. PROPOSAL #1 DESCRIPTION: Program for Experienced Workers To provide workshops to experienced, mature workers who are having difficulty in adjusting to the current labour market and assist them to overcome perceived barriers and find employment. Topics could include, but not be limited to self-confidence building, marketing, stress management, skills assessment and myths. PROPOSAL #2 DESCRIPTION: Future Dimensions To provide career direction services to unemployed persons. Provider must be proficient in the delivery of contemporary aptitude and interest assessment tools. (This service to be provided in the Peel area only). PROPOSAL #3 DESCRIPTION: Bridging the Language Gap To provide job search techniques and the targeted wage subsidy program to El eligible clients who have difficulty accessing these services in one of Canada's officiai languages. Organizations must have experience in assisting new immigrants with finding employment and must be interested in providing service in one or both of the following groups: a) Punjabi, Urdu and other languages of the Indian sub continent. b) Cantonese and Mandarin (This service is to be provided in the Peel area only.) PROPOSAL #4 DESCRIPTION: Research Study on Visible Minorities Conduct a research project that will gather and compile data on Visible Minorities in the Peel, Halton and Dufferin areas. If you are a community based agency/organization, a multicultural group, private enterprise or a neighbourhood resource centre and is sensitive to the issues of Visible Minorities, you are invited to submit your proposal. PROPOSAL#5 DESCRIPTION: Job Fair To provide a forum to employers for recruitment of workers and to provide labour market and career information to the community. Proposals will be assessed on their unique design, ability to energize the customers who attend the fair, and their marketing expertise. (This service is to be provided in the Peel area only).
