Drug dealer gets two years for selling heroin to teens A Halton HuIs drug dealer caught selling heroin to Milton high school students was sentenced to two years in jail. Judge Douglas Latimer handed down the prison term to Alison Manzer, 21, in Ontario Court (provin- cial division) in Burlington Wednesday. The sentence was reportedly relatively light because Manzer was selling the drug to support her own addiction and she's now undergoing treatment. The young mother of a three-year-old child was seen seiling heroin - considered a highly addictive substance - to 15 Milton high sehool students last faIl. The youths, aged 14 to 18 years, weren't charged but Halton Regionasi Police contacted parents. Manzer was charged with 18 counts of possession of a narcotic and trafficking. Court bas heard an undercover police officer made numerous purchases from Manzer and eventually met ber supplier for a buy on November 7, when the pair were arrested. The arresi followed a ive-week investigation result- ing froin an initial caîl by an astute local parent who was conscious about what his teenager was doing. Its believed the heroin was being used through tra- ditional means of injections. Judge Latimer convicted Manzer of breaching a pro- bation order (related to a theft charge) and two counts of traffickimg for drug sales in October and November. The other charges were withdrawn. .Cor*j*rction A spotis story in Fniday's Champion incorrectly identifled Jamie Krane's phone number - which local residents can cail to make donations to thse Milton Skateboard Park fwd- as878-2955.
