VrE CHOSE THE SAILBOAT AS TH1E WAY TO GO!' for a recent two- week venture - we called it a 'once-in-a- fetimie' trip, but now ae convinced we Nould love to go again! The good part of ong on a saîboat is you can get to some Df the smnaller islands to explore, where the lage cruiseships cannot get into and even the ferries do not serve regularly. Fom the ACROPOUIS in Athens, to the island of AEGNA and its TEPLE OF AHIA; onwards to POROS, to HYDRA, to KLEFILKO, to HYDRA, to IOS (with a side trip by ferry to SANTORINU!) to PAROS, to MYKONOS (of course%),te KEA, and finally back to the mainland at CAPE SOUNION - whiat an adventure! And at each stop it was like a whole new country to exploit. wi lif w g( oi la 0 s COLUMBIA and used their feny service 10 the various points, both on the mainland and the islands, you will understand the excellent method of 'getting about' there is - it is very simnilar in Greece. A GREAT 'WAY TO GO' - we mnet people who were going island te island via the ferry route, travelling on their own imespan, visifing the sites, tasing the local flavours; then going tothe pier, gettng on the ferry (there are really fast 'hydrofoils' or the regular ferries which carry people, cars and cargo) and mnoving on te the next venture - another island, anothermnemnorable visitation!
