Dear Editor: 1 have been talking ta my neîghbours and the Town staf trying ta understand the proposed expansion of Milton. After going through lots of numbers and information 1 was stili unable ta ind the answer ta the most important question of ail. How will this expansion make my family's life and those of my neighbours better than il is now? The proposai calis for adding 50,000 people and hundreds of businesses, widening roads and building pipes ail the way down ta Lake Ontario, but 1 stili don't know how it will benefit the people that live in Milton today. There are some obvious winners. The Champion will benefit because its market will be bigger. Politicians wili have more responsibility. Large iandowners wili certainiy make a great return an their investment. Even some local businesses will do well for a while (at least until we get big enough for Wal Mart and Home Depot ta rail in). This program wiIl commence the weekend of May 30, 1998 and continue each day unil the scheduled work for 1998 is completed. T1here will be some inconvenience. Discoloured water is discharged during clean- mng and we don't wailt it inding its way into your home. There are some simple things you can do to help when we are working on your street: " Do not use water or flush toiles between the times indicated on your blue letter which we wiil provide to you approximately 2 days prior to working on your street.
