Lcading the charges were senior stars Matt Peers and Shawnda Marques, who're following up on stellar 1997 seamons. Peers tumed back ail challengers in the 1O00m dash with an 11.4 second finish in the finals. A bastion of consistency al] day long, he clocked in ati 1l.4s and 1 1.3s in the preliminary and semnifinal heats respectively. Marques meanwhile is looking to make a third consecutive trip to the provincial championships this spring. McKnight finished second in the senior class, setting a new school record of 53.3s, while St. John clocked in at 56.3s for an identical placing among the juniors.
