At a ceremony before the Halton Regional Police Services Board, DARE chair Johanne Slomka handed out plaques te, those who help keep the initiative afloat. The 17 week DARL (Drug Abuse Resisiance Lducaon) [m) gram is offered to ail grade 6 students in Halton by specially trained officers and is funded by police, both school boards and the province. The latter portion has been declining annually so the volunteer DARE Halton board is required to raise $250,000 each year. Support has been received front service clubs, the educational community and concemed companies.
