BRING VOUR HEALTH CARD TO MDH... EVERY TIME! The Ontario Ministry of Health is cracking down on Health Care Fraud by applying a new "No Ticket - No Laundry" Policy. As of March lst, the Govermnent will flot pay for services provided to you without a valid Health (OHIP) card. If you use a MDH's Emergency Department or other out-patient services, this means having to provide a health card every time you use our ser- vices. If you cannot produce a health card at the time of your visit, two things happen because of the Government's new miles: 1. You will be asked to bring in your card (or eaul in your health card number) to the Hospital within t'wo business days , AND 2. You will be asked to sign a form acknowl- edging your responsibility for ail charges for your visit (including doctors' fees). You will also be asked for your credit card account number for billing purposes. if you do have a health card in your name at the time of the visit, we wiHl submit the dlaim to OHIP. If OHIP rejects the dlaim because of an invalid health card number, you will be billed for the cost of the service. These new rules have been imposed on the Hospital by the Ministry of Health. At MDH, we hope we can count on your co-operation to mini- mize any problems these new miles may create. Once again, please remember to bring your health card to MDH - EVERYTIME! THUMBS UP TO...
