We unanimously fet that the Chamber should champion causes and venues that would alow ail groups in the town heip shape the future. Dialogue between the Town, the Region and the many organi- zations that make up the framework of the community is aiways heipful. In 1995 work was completed on a far-reaching document called "Destiny Milton". Several task forces throughout the area compiied it. It's now ime t0 revisit that document and see how far we have come and where we should go from here. 'Mat is nol 10 say that we would take the ime and expense of the original effort. But, moving mbt the new millennium ail of us should focus on how we would like the place that we live and work in 10 be. This takes input from ail areas of the com- munity. With that in mmid, a number of the Chamber volun- teers have been meeting to discuss the value of hostîng a one- day seminar. The name would be "Milton and Its Future Beyond the Year 2000". We would hope 10 bring together representatives from the Chamher, the Region, the Town, BIA, Service Clubs, Communily groups, the hospital and individual ciizens groups. Il would be a chance 10 hear and discuss Town plans. There might be workshops on growth and change. A forum where everyone could help formulate ideas for the future. This is a great communiîy and this is a chance t0 provide input 10 the planners of the future. This is a ime 10 hear about other members of the communily and their plans. Sound inter- esting? Wiîh an undertaking like this we need help. We wilI be gel- îing in îouch with ail the groups possible in the next few weeks 10 gel their comments and, hopefully, their support; but we will need lots of help. So, if you think that you wouid like 10 be part of helping 10 shape the vision for the future, please give us a cali. We'd be happy 10 include you.
