Whîle Drury is once again the odds-on favounte to win the Halton tîtie this sea- son, the team will be hard-pressed to equal lait year's overali success. Among their 1996-97 accomplishments were a record margin of victory at Haltons, their second-ever GHAC triumph and an eighth place finish at OFSAA - their hest in team history. Drury will be lean in the middleweight divisions - especially witb the Ioss of Denich and Cavallo - but stili have a solid overaîl mix of veterans and rookies. Among those expected 10 lead the teara are Kevin Heffron, Chad Merriît, Adam Scoit and captain John McCart. AIl four represented Milton at the national level this pait spring. McCart has already won ihree straight gold medals in toumament competition. Sophomore Andy Wadeson, who took fifth at OFSAA lait year, should he anoth- er bright spot in the ranka. "A host of rookies have also stood out including Chris Guard, Luke Hendrie and the Baxter brothers (Adam and Malt)," said Jaroslawski. "On paper, our graduating seniors repre- sent a devastaîing lots but other schools like Georgetown and Burlington Central have lost wrestlers ai well an I think we're still the favourites in Halton. "As far as GHAC goes, I think it's hetween us and Georgeîown." Georgetown High will host hoth the Halton and GHAC championships in Fehruasy.
