Drury High ScIsool placed third at Saturday's Rebel Rookie Wrestling Toumnament in Georgetown, on tise strength of gold-medal performances by up-and-comers Keith Dunni and Dave Frost. Both won their first career golda. Dunn went 4-O with one pin while Frost scored two pins and an overall 3-1 record. Also figuring in the medal haul were Mail Baxter and Chris Guard, who each earned bronze. Danny Varley flnished fourth on the day. Their collective efforts placed the Spartans ahead of 14 other teams. The host team retained their tournament title while Brampton Centennial took second. Veteran Nick Barkley made a succesaful teturn to Guelphs College Heights Saturday, where hie won his second open divi- sion gold in as many years. Jeremy Baron, Adam Scott and Junior Dynamo graduate Matt Devries ail *stna ck silver. For Baron and Devries, this marked their firat career silver medal in open clasa competition. Last Friday at the Waterdown Tournament, Kaegen Sherriff claimied gold and led a Spartan foursome that aIl cracked the top four. Despite an unblemidshed 3-O showing, Kevin Heffron left before the finals due to hockey commitments and had to seule for silver. Chris Holmes found himself in a similar situation. After wîn- ning three of four matches, hie had to leave early and thus forfeit- ed his bronze-medal match. Also placing fourth with a 3-2 record was Bryan Gent. The Spartans travel to Woodstock tomorrow (Saturday) and host their annual holiday toumnament Wednesday. Hearns gets winner The CSBI Construction minor peewee AA's traveled two very different paths towards back-to-back shutout wins recently. The Winterhawks looked to finish with a no-score draw against Orangeville until Mark Hearns delivered the victory with a game-winner in the final 13 seconds of play. Setting him up was Tyler Holman while Tim Johnston was flawless between the pipes. Mark Wilson, Brett Turner, James McIntosh and Christian Nonis provided a tîght defen- sive web for the victors.
