Stolen truck just too large for bridge, hoods fiee crash Thieves' efforts to steal $70J,000 worth of lumber and two lift trucks from a Milton business were thwarted by a Hwy. 401 underpass in Toronto. A stolen tractor-trailer carrying the gooda waa obstructed by as underpasa near Keele Street, knock- ing a lift truck out of the unit, said Det. Sgt. Ron Welsh of Halton Regional Police. Arrest nmade in theft A 40-year-old Brampton man faces a charge of break, enter and theft after a re-possessed truck was stolen from a Market Drive compound. The 1985 GMC truck was taken ovemight August 26 from Headline Industries' holding compound for re-possessed vehicles, Det. Sgt. Welsh said. The car holding compound's locked gate was bro- ken open. The charged man was the previous owner of the vehicle, police said. The vehicle hadn't been recovered at press time. Police Blotter Thieves scared off Thieves attempted to steal tools from Krohnert Manufacturing ovemight August 27. The culprits broke into the Steeles Avenue factory and cut the locka off several tool boxes, police said.
