Milton counicillors approved a rezoning of part of the property last week. The.rezoning will allow construction of two 18-hole courses, a nine-hole practice course and a driving range. According to senior planner Anne Bouck ait the non-golf recre- atiopal aspects of the original application have been dropped. There was talk of a water park, sport fields, and go-carts, but since Clublink joined the projeet the focus has heen on golf only. Approvals have been received from most interested agencies, such as the Halton Region Conservation Authority, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Halton Region and its environmental and agricultural committees. The golf company owns and operates several courses in Ontario, nicluding Greystonc in Miltoni and Heron Point in Ancaster. According to Clublink director and project manager Scott Kirby, the development will have 10 to 20 fuil-time permanent employees, and he estimated an additional 200 seasonal workers during the April through October golf season. Mr. Kirby said he hopes initial grading of the site can be started this season and the course could be open by July 1, 1999.
