A group of students at Iroquois Ridge High School wants to help disaster relief efforts around the world and they have found a way how. The group is hosting a spaghetti dinner on Thursday (April 4) in support of ShelterBox Canada, an international disaster relief charity that responds to disasters around the globe by providing emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies to families in need. The dinner will be held at Munn's United Church, 5 Dundas St. E. with the support of the Rotary Club of Oakville West. The dinner is put on by the schools' Interact Club (IRHSIC), who, each year, hold at least two initiatives, one of which is intended to further international understanding and goodwill. Through the help of the Rotary Club and Rotarian Donna Messer, of ConnectUs Connections Canada, the word got out and donations came pouring in to make the dinner successful. There will be an auction during the dinner. The dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread rolls, beverages and dessert. The dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for adults or $10 for children.
