Sheridan fourth at national basketball championships The Sheridan Bruins finished fourth at the national men's basketball college championships recently in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Que. Sheridan (33-12 overall, 21-2 in Ontario College Athletic Association play) took Langara to overtime of the bronze-medal game before dropping a 99-93 decision. The OCAA champion Bruins led by nine points at halftime before Langara rallied to take an 11-point lead, but Sheridan scratched and clawed its way back to force overtime. "It's extremely disappointing -- not in the way we played, but the result. I really, honestly felt that we had earned a win and there were just a couple of turning points that we couldn't recover from," said Bruins head coach Jim Flack. Trevor Williams led the Bruins with 26 points in the final. Michael Selkridge (19), Kadeem Hall (12), Roshean Keen (11) and Dylan Periana (10) also hit double figures. Sheridan reached the bronze-medal game by defeating the host John Abbott squad 85-58 in the bronze semifinal, a game played 13 hours after the Bruins were eliminated from goldmedal contention.
