November 29, 1972. Dear Voter. On Monday, December 4, 1972, you will have the opportunity to decide the future of Sunday racing in Nassagaweya Township. As President of The Ontario jockey Club, the owner and operator of Mohawk Raceway, I urge you to vote "yes" on this referendum. From the point of view of The Ontario jockey Club, Sunday racing is important to the economic survival and future growth of Mohawk Raceway. We think that it is important to Nassagaweya Township that Sunday racing becomes a reality. In this connection we think it should be noted that Mohawk Raceway is the largeat taxpayer in Nassagaweya and one of the Township's largest employers. We realize that there is some concern with the hour of the day when racing will be held. It is our intention to conduct our racing at night. We recognize that traffic in the vicinity of a racetrack can be a problemn and we'l work with local and provincial governments to alleviate it. 1 can assure you that we'll apply the samne spirit of community co-operation to this project that we've brought to the other civic projects that we've been involved in. We need your help. And 1 think it's realistic to say that in many ways, we've been an asset to, this ares. Let's make sure that our Township continues to grow in a planned progressive way. A "yes' vote on Sunday racing will assist in its future. Remember that the referendum will be held on December 4. If you can't get to the poli, caîl us at 854-2255 and we'l arrange transportation for you. Yours trly ~ .,e5 MWed, ed on osier va tis ay ho loi of pou ne t of a Clers i NASSAGAWEYA IRE-ELECT DECEMBER 4th for Council IGIBSON A.H. iI& 4 years Council experience e Committed ta the growth and development of the Township * 2 years on School Board * Successful business record -R
