Last week against the powerful Mississauga Chiefs, however, the Hornets were reminded they still have a few strides to make before they can compete with the league's elite. Mississauga blanked the Hornets 7-0 Thursday at Joshua's Creek Arenas in an intense contest that included two body-checking penalties, two roughing calls, an elbowing minor and even a rare fight. The Hornets rebounded Saturday to defeat the Kingston Ice Wolves 4-1 in Kingston. Andrea Benac, Victoria Medeiros, Michelle Quick and Lindsay Stenason scored for Oakville, with Hayley Scamurra and Amanda Pereira earning two assists each. Camille Leonard made 19 saves to earn the victory. Oakville (9-9-7) will face another tough test this Friday, when it will host the league-leading Whitby Wolves at Joshua's Creek Arenas (8:30 p.m. start).
