As of The Oakville Beaver's press deadline last night, the Halton District School Board (HDSB) had made the decision to close all its elementary schools; however, there was a slim chance the decision could have been overturned. The potential for a decision to re-open schools today was dependent on an Ontario Labour Relations Board resolution expected as late as 10 p.m., if made last night. "We're huddled here and waiting for a decision," said director of education David Euale yesterday afternoon. At 6 p.m., the director said school board officials would wait HWY: 6.7L/100 KM CITY: 10.1L/100 KM until as late as 9 p.m. to make an absolute decision on whether schools would stay closed. If a decision to open schools was made late last night, Euale said the board would notify parents using its home notification system and board website (www.hdsb.ca).
