(Feb. 23,1942 - Dec. 13, 2012) One journey has ended and another has begun. Gordon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family with love and gratitude for his life on Thursday, December 13th at 8:07 pm at the age of 70. He was predeceased by his father Douglas (2005) and mother Helen (2012). He is survived by his sister Sandra and two brothers, Wilson and Keith. He was cherished by his family and was a wonderful husband to Beth for over 45 years, and father to his sons James (Elise) and Matthew (Sherrie). His greatest joys were his grandchildren Madison, Zachary and Tyler, all of whom he adored. Nephew of Frank and Norma Block and Isobel Kring, whom he loved dearly, he also leaves many cousins and his extended family which includes the Edwards' and the Thornes, as well as many wonderful friends. At Gordon's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will occur in the new year. Sincere thank you to Doctors Allan Byrne, Naveen Arya and Nancy Ku as well as the staff at Dorval Medical Clinic, all whom with their expertise, allowed us to have extra time with Gordon. Also, thank you to Marlene at CCAC and Glen Ann and Michael from Acclaim Health, who helped in Gordon's two month journey of dying at home. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Ian Anderson house, a hospice in Oakville. Although Gordon was able to stay at home, these donations will help others that require this support. Gordon was a great soul and was deeply loved by all. He accepted his impending death with peace and dignity, exactly how he lived his life. All our lives have been enriched because of him and we were all truly blessed to have had Gordon in our lives as long as we did, and to have comforted him in his final journey.
