The Ali Baba has been in operation in Whitby for the past eight years and em- ploys about 40 people. To ensure that ail diners get prompt service, each waitress wears an electronic beeper. When she hears the beep she knows your dinner is hot and waiting, and is off to the kitchen to get it. The dining area is divided into several rooms, each decorated in the style of the times of Ali Baba, and too, there are individual cubicles where you can have com- plete privacy if you s0 desire. The Ahi Baba has a fine choice of selected house wines which compliment any meal, or if you care, for something special you may ask to see their rare wine list. The waitress will be happy to assist you with your choice.* I had a tough decision to make on ordering, but set- tled for the New York sirloin with baked potato. Joy was tomn between the roast chicken and flaming shish- ka-bob and chose the latter. We might add here that the waitresses are very helpfuh when ordering, and can be of great assistance in helping you decide on a particular entree. The steak was tasty, and with a tolich of garlic and a pinch of the famous Ali Baba spices, it was indeed a delight. Joy's order came complete with the flames, fried tomato and baked potato. We topped the meal off with ccffee and Black Forest cake, which was very very nice. The Ahi Baba is taking reservations for Christmas chihdren's menus are available. They have a din- ner special on Wednesday's and Sundays, with a dinner at $5.95 which includes salad, hors d'oeuvers, garlic bread, and baked potato. They also cater to Christmas parties and special parties. Major credit cards are ac- cepted. Daily there is a businessmen's luncheon with a price range of $3.00 to $5.00. Dinner for two ranges from $12.00 to $30.00. The Coach House is closed on Mondays.
