In October, there were 24 agreements signed under the Canada Manpower In- dustrial Training Program. As a resuit, 25 people will benefit from both training and employment in the Region of Durham. At the end of October, there were 55 students in the skill courses sponsored by the Canada Ernployment Centre and 121 people receiving academic upgrading at Durham College. Man guilty of dangero us driving A Whitby man has been fined $1,000 or four months in jail after pleading guilty in county court last week to a charge of dangerous driving in connection with a fatal accident last spring in Ajax. George C. Riddell, 29, of 5 Calais Street was charged after Mary Ann Harlow, 28, of Habitant Crescent, Whit- four car collision on High- way 2 near the Whitby-Ajax border.. Riddell was found guilty of the charge by County Court Judge Joseph Kelly after pleading not gullty to the original charge of criminal negligence causing death. The judge has ordered that the fine be paid in 30 days.
