For- mation of a community with representation from school parents and the community wili be dlscussed. $409OOO grant Grants totailing $573,005 under the Ontario Homes Renewal Program (OHRP> have been allocated to 15 municipalities for horneowners to repair their houses, Housing Minister Claude Bennett announced iast week. OHRP provides grants based on population to On- tario municipalities to ad- minister as loans to owner- occupants with a maximum annual income of 112,500. Bennett recently proposed that the incorne celling be raised te $15,500. The prime objective of the program is the correction of faulty structural and sanltary conditions and the upgrading of piumbing, heating, insulation and elec- trical wiring. Loans ofup to $7,500 may be made to eligible owner- occupants to bring their homes up to the standards set 4y their municlpality. A portion may be forgiven depending on the recipient's income. Interest rates range from zero to eight per cent, again depending on ln- corne. OHRP is one of the province's actions to assist municipalities and the private sector in conserving and recyciing existing resources through corn- munity renewal activities.
