Saturday July 26, but there wiIl be much goings on. The Downtown Business Improvement Area Board have planned an outdoor mail to be held downtown from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. that Saturday. Along with a shopping mail many other events and surprises have been plan- ned. "IWe hope to get as many downtown businesses -n- vnlved in the outdoor mail as possible and we strongly urge everyone to particIpate in the sidewalk sale," said Mike Burgess, Chairman of the Downtown Business Im- provement Area Board and president of MBM Publishing & Photography, Ine. (Publishers of the Whit- by Free Press) Burgess said that Brock street shall be closed off from Highway 2 to Coîbour- ne street in the south and from Highway 2 to Mary street in the north from 3 a.m. on the 26 until 9 p.m. This is going to be the biggest and the best street mail Whitby has ever seen," Burgess said. Events start out on Brock St Sont at 1 p.m. with a "Ibest legs" contest. Frorn 3:15 p.m. until 4 p.m. there wii be a Brooklin Square Exhibition and from 3 until 5 p.m. the Durham stage band wii be holding a concert. High Test wiil play at 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and agian from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. One event that is sure to draw is the Toronto Argonauts Sun- shine girl's skit dance and autograph signing session from 2:30 until 3 p.m. Meanwhiie on Brock St north the group Alabama will perform at noon until 1 p.m. and again at 5:30 until 9 p.m. Inta Leja wiil hold a dance demonstration bet- ween 1 and 2 p.m. Registration for a wrist wrestling competition will begin at 1 p.m. with preiiminary rounds begin- ning at 1:30 and ending at 3 p.m. A boxing exhibition wiil be heid from 3 p.m. unti] 4 p.m. foliowed by the wrist wrestling finals from 4 until 5:30P. M. There wiil be a St. John's Ambuiance on hand ail day. Andy Hathaway wiil travel through the crowd dressed as a clown handing out balloon animais to children and the Toronto Historical Rangers wiil perform and be on hand ail day. The board has arranged to rent two buses for the day SO ail people in Whitby can ride the buses free. The two buses will run on the regular sehedule. Refreshements wiil be served in a beer tent iocated in the Brock St. north sec- tion, another frefreshemt stand is expected to be located in both mails.
