This year the ride was open to not only ladies but their friends and faiies as weil. Not ail pleges have been collected yet, but when they are the total monles realized should be aobut $7,000. Ail riders are urged to put forth a special effort to get their money in before they become too involved in their summer activîties. 0f the 115 riders, 31 represented seven local banks and trust companies. The seven branches who accepted the club's challenge to ride produced $3,500 0f the total raised. The bank raising the largest amount was to be treated to lunch. On Wednesday, June 4, the twenty staff members from the Royal Bank on Brock Street South went to lunch at the home of Marg Horton and Kay Hare. Six Scotia riders decked out in gay red and white shorts and tops made a colourful addtion to the ride. Added incentive for this group was provided by manager, Tom Dodge who went along too. Dodge had chailenged the Bank of Mon- treal manager, Joe Sharpe, to ride thereby creating some fun and spirit.. On Thursday, June 26 at the last meeting of the Kiwanis Club before the summer months, Club president Tome Wilcox presented the seven banks with certificates of ap- preciation for their par- ticipation in the ride.
