Ruddy General Hospital reaffirnied iLs opposition to a proposai, that would see the facility used as thje basis for the redevelopment of the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital. The board passed a motion at the meeting committing itself to "'make every effort" to keep the hospital as a primary health care facility. In their report, the con- sultants dlaim that the hospital is underuseci and expensive. It is also not meeting the need for chronic care in the area, Peat, Marwick and Partners said.
