The Parks & Recreation Department is busy making the final arrangements for the evening. The nomination period closed last week and the award recipients have al been notified. The recipients will be honoured at Heyden- shore Pavilion beginning at 7:30 p.m. next Wednesday. The Parks & Recreation Department extends their appreciation to ail those who submitted the names of those to be honoured. The public is also invited to at- tend the proceedings. Individuals being recognized for their outstan- ding achievements include Jim Crouch, Bil Livingstone, Mark Fuller- ton, Glenn Nolan, Martin Drews, Fred Horne, Tonly Jones, Ron Alldred, Doug Matthews and Glenda Pye. Others will also be honoured. Groups or organizations being honoured include the Girl Guides Canada Cord recipients, the County Town Singers, the Jaycees and the Jaycettes. The evening will include remnarks from the mayor, councillors and Master of Cerernonies, Wayne DeVeau. Awards will be presented to the recipients followed by light refresh- ments after the conclusion of the presentations. The evening is a nice gesture on the part of the Town to recognize those who have made outstanding achievements in the com- munity in the past year as these people so often go unoticed. First Brook lin takes trophy A patrol for the First Brooklin Scouts attended the Oshawa District Invitational Jamboree at Camp Samac recently. The patrol came away from the event as the winners of the class "A" campers award and the trophy for the best 'visiting patrol. Attending the event were patrol leader Steven Pearsen; assistatnt patrol leader Patrick Martin; and scouts Ian Er- vine, Stephen Ingleton and Ken Middleton. -Photo by Ralph Martin
