Residents witl fight town 's K-Martdecis ionat 0MB Kendalwood Road residents who opposed the building of a restaurant at the K-Mart Plaza are con- sidering not only a protest to the Ontario Municipal Board but a consumer boycott as well after the restaurant was approved by Whitby Town Council at their regular meeting last week. Bll Lovelock, a spokesman for the residents, said that they will have met before press time to con- sider a plan of action. "We more than likely wilI be going to the 0MB, " Lovelock said after the meeting. "We more than likely will be going to the 0MB," Lovelock said after the meeting. "We will have to talk it over with the people; but what have we got to lose - nothing. " Lovelock said that he wil have "about 1,000 flyers" printed asking people to boycott Dominion Stores. "We will see what their stand is then, " he said. "It is the people who have to sup- port the store. " Area residents had asked that the restaurant be moved frorn the north-east to the north-west corner of the lot since the former location caused problems for them. The move was vetoed by Dominion Stores which refused to allow the restaurant - to be operated by Winco Steak and Burger - su close to its store. Dominion has the authority to veto any develupment in the plan. Lovelock was "more than disappointed" with East Ward Councillor Jue Baby contest The Whitby Jaycettes are sponsoring a Spring Baby Photo Contest, as a ways project for their organization. Only the first 50 snapshots, 3" x 5", one child per photo, will be ac- cepted. Babies under three years old by December 31, 1979 are eligible for entry.
