The five-week program, which is being offered through the Halton Region Health Department, provides free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in the form of patches. To find out more details, interested residents are being invited to attend a STOP workshop held in Halton Hills and Burlington Dec. 12. To date, results for STOP participants have shown an improvement of at least two times the typical quitting rates. The program, conducted by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, has already provided NRT, free of charge, along with counselling support to 80,000 people from across Ontario.
