appeared in Grimsby Independent, 6 May 1936, p. 1
Description
- Full Text
Three weeks ago, on April 13th, Mrs. Irene Sharpe, North Grimsby, gave birth to twins, boy and girl. At birth the boy weighed but one pound 12 ounces, and the girl 2 pounds and 4 ounces, or a total of just 4 pounds. The male child died within a few hours, but his little sister, Mildred Marie, is still living and every effort is being made at the Moyer Nursing Home, where they were rushed immediately after birth, to preserve the tiny life by means of feeding with an eyedropper. An electric pad is being used to keep the babe at an even temperature and each day hopes are rising that science will win its battle.
