McGuinty announced his resignation Monday. He will officially step down when a new leader is chosen -- and he has prorogued Legislature until that happens. "I'm really happy with the decision. I think it provides us with some incredible opportunities in the House," Flynn said. "It's a good day. I think the Premier gets to leave on his own terms and I think he's got a very strong and very proud record. Ontario is leading the world in a number of ways." Dalton McGuinty The Opposition parties, however, are calling the Premier's move to prorogue government nothing more than a ruse to cover up the costs of the cancelled power plants in Oakville and Mississauga -- decisions dubbed seat savers in Oakville and Mississauga. Flynn, however, charged Opposition parties have ground the Legislature to a halt, preventing any work from being done. The MPP also credited McGuinty's achievements during his nine-year term as premier. Flynn commended McGuinty for improving air quality and reducing smog days, reducing congestion on the QEW See Decision page 13 Lessons eric riehl / oakville BEAVER / @halton_photog from the pros: The Raptors Academy coaches hosted a free Learn to Dribble clinic for children aged eight to 12 years at the Peter Gilgan YMCA of Oakville Saturday.
