The OMHS has a goal of finding homes for 100 of its adult cats during the adopt-a-thon and as such the price of an adult cat (six months of age and older) will be reduced to $75. "We currently have 350 cats in our care," said Brenda Dushko, OMHS spokesperson. "October is a great time to add a pet to your family. Everyone is back into a regular routine after summer, children are back in school and families that may have been considering adding a pet to their family have a good sense of how busy their schedule is now." Dushko said the shelter will be open regular hours during the adopta-thon, with extra staff and volunteers available to help potential adopters find the right cat for their family.
