North Metro Chorus, based in Toronto, is the first Canadian chorus ever ta win t he international competition. Competitors gathered from ail over the world for the 5Oth annual convention. North Metro Chorus has been presenting music in the barbershop style since their charter in 1967. The chorus showcases the talents of more than 160 women, ranging ini age from 2 1 to 86, from ail walks of lite. North Metro bas performed throughout aouthern Ontario including Roy Thomson Hall, Minker Auditorium (with the Nylons), and the Ford Centre for the Performiing Arts. At the competition level, North Metro ha. won the regional competitions (northern New York State and Southern Ontario) 10 times - each win qualifying the chorus for competition at the international level.
