Whtiby beat Nickel Basin 6-3, Sudbury 94, Waterloo 2-1 and tied Gloucester "- to finish first in the crossover portion of the schedule. In the semi-finals, Wbitby edged Upper Ottawa Valley 4-3 to set up a meeting with Waterloo. In an exciting final, Whitby fell behind 3-1 but in the second period kept pressing, and sparked by a breakaway save by. goalie Heidi Schlitt, scored three late goals to win 4-3. In league play, Central Ontario Ringette League junior A, the teain is also undefeated. The team's season overaîl is 10 wins, no loases and three ties. Team members are Stephane Campeau, Sara Vanïderlip, Lindsay Freeman, Jessica Brownridge, Rachel Reid, Lyndsey Smith,' Krista Mueller, Kara Byrnes, Nicole Freeman, Miranda Burgess and Jennifer Leighton. James 'Liske and Minis each had two assista. Goalie Chris Nemiez was outstanding. The second game was a tight- checking affair with Whitby bowing 2-1 to Richmond HFER Jaguars after a late third -period goal was called back. The lone Wildcat goal was scored by Annis. In their third game, Wildcats beat York Toros 4-2 with a, solid performance by defenceman Glen Corbin- who contributed one goal and two assista. Other goals went to Jeremy Brimble, Justin Hawe and Jeff Hass. After winning their division, Wildcats advanced to the semi- final to face Richmond ill. again, but in thisgame the skate was on the other foot as Wildcats triumphed 2-1. Tyler Healy had two goals, Matt Anderson and Jordan Fitzgerald one each. .Goalies Callahan and Jordan Justin White led the way in- a 5-0 win. Justin Fox and Anderson each had tWo goals, Seton the other. Whitby lost 3-2 to Humber Valley in the semi-finals. Laramy and Meadows dcored. In beague play, Wildcats won 4-3 in Aurora with two goals by Meadows, and singles by Anderson and Greer. Whitby's record now stands at nime wins, a boss and three ties. 8ight, Wildcats -again faced York Toros, winners of the other sezi- final game. This time a fired-up Wildcat team totall1y dominated- play, notching two goals in the first 6:15 of Play, both perfect defiections by Hass. They went on to defeat Toros 7-2 to win the championship, with goals also going to Kerr, Hawe, Annis, Brirnble and Conner. Brimble added three assista, Kerr and Adamn Thibodeau had two each. Wildcate also collected two of the tournament's three MVP awards with the forward MVP going to speedy centre Lieke and the defence MVP going to Corbin.
