With the change ini season, cornes the end of some sports and the beginning of the season for others. Congratulations to the Henry Street senior boys' and midget boys' volleybail teams, along with the midget girls' basketball teami who have completed very sucoessful seasons. The junior and senior girls' basketball teams are winding down their seamons and we ail wlsh them continued sucoess in their remaining games. Just getting under way are boys' basketball and girls' volleyball. Make sure to pay attention te the announcements for more information. Our provincial champion senior boys' basebail team bas been invited te play- in s. very Prestigious tournament in Boca ]Raton, Florida. The team has begun fundraising for the trip by selling T-shirts te the achool population outside the student council office at lunch. Short-eleeved shirts are $16 and long-seeved $20. Henry is the only Canadian team that has been invited to this tournament, so let's support our Hawks. Henry's evening of one-act pls.ys is fast approaching. I know because last week a friend of mine, Edward Canning, suffered through s. week without memoiy. Peculiarly enougb, bowever, Ed could remeniber most things except when it came te recalling this past week's events at Austin. That's where I came in. I began by telling Ed about the senior girls' basketball team. He was happy to hear about their 61- 32 win. ever Pereyma te end regular season play. I then teld hlm about the junior girls' basketball teani and their participation in two tournaments on the weekend. One can orily imagine Ed's overwhelming glee when I teld hlm they ended up winning five eut cf the six games i on. teurnament and flnished in third place in the Oshawa This Week teurnament. I could sens. that an air cf familiarity was veiling Ed. As his thirat for knowledge continued, I recalled the heart-breaking loss the midget boys' volleyball team suffered on Monday at the banda ofHemry. Needless te say, the boys bave made Austin very proud. I looked at Ed. I could tell from the look cf confidence on his face that it was te fail inte place. To prove he had overcome bis spell cf amnesia, h. announced proudly that Austin's sixth annual bock fair arrived on Monday and will continue until tomorrow.
