The first game in Markham Saturday night was a hard defensive battie won by Whitby 2- 1, Whtby's third playoff win of the day having defeated Pickering twice., Strong pitching from starter Mike Sakata and then Phil Wright held Markham to one run over six innings. Whitby tied the score in the sixth inning with a sacrifice bit fr-om Darryl Andrews that allowed Colin Elion to score from third.
