Walsh then scored unassisted after a good individual effort te -put Wildcats ahead for Whitby's defence and goaltender Mike Nemiez came up big in the third period as Wildcats ran into a rash of penalties including two fi ve-on-threes and a five-minute major. The team is experiencing first-hand the ýups and downs of full contact hockey and players are learning quicly to keep their heada up. In pre-season play, Whitby had two wins against Bowmanville, two wins against Ajaxc and a tie and a Ices against Belleville. Other members of the teain are Brian Rourke, Bon Scheepers, Sean Homnes, Kyle Ruttan,- Mat McKay, Ryan Mendes, Dana Blom, Luke Harden, Mark Cipparone, Reece Robertson, Andrew Allison and goaltender Mike Tbornton. The Whitby defence of Paddy Kelly, Graham Knox, Cameron Langlois, Kevin Lomax, Jason Michie and Tanner Twining held Axemen te few shots, helping goaltenders Michael Jeffery and Kyle Simnpson. Goal-scorers were Wayne Turcotte, Thomas F arquharson, Langlois (aIse an aÉsist), Ryan Johnston and Derek Rayner (aise an assist). On Sept. 30,1 Wildcats'lost- 3-2 te Markham. Scering uriassisted for Whitby was _Aaren MacMurray. Turcotte scored the second goal on a pass from Chris Laforge. Simipson and Jeffrey shared goaltending duties. Matthew Race, played well in Saturday, Wildcats Pickering 8-1. Maguire Johnston had two goals and two assists, Robinson a goal and three assists. MacMurray and Knox lead the other goals. On Sunday, Wildcats played host te a strong Bowmanville team and were defeated 9-2. In goal for Whitby was Michael Jeffrey who macle many valiant saves. Scorers for Whitby were Johnston and Knox.
