The 'Strawberry Shortcake' party wiIl include clowns, magi- clans, wagon rides, hay jumps, maze crazes and a petting zoo. Big Sisters of Durham will serve treats to raise funds. In addition to shorteake, there will be fresh-dipped chocolate-covered strawberries. Watson Farms is located on Highway 2, east of Maple Grove Road. The Strawberry Festival at Cullen Gardens continues until July 3. Tales begmn tonight The third annual 'Tales for a Summer's Eve' will be held at the courtyard complex in Picker- in Village starting June 29. Th e concerts taxe lace ove r six consecutive Wednesday nighits starting June 29. The first concert will feature Sher Leetooze, Rob Owens, Sharon Henry and Ron Getz as storytellers. Concerts begin at 9:30 p.rn. Other storytellers in the series will be Meryl Arbing, Murray Garrett, Carol McGruer, Anne Srnythe, Micki Bock, Carollyn Hart, Normýan Perrin, Marc Jen- kins, Liz Lloyd, Yolanda Declerq, George Blake, Jim Meeks, Har- niet Yanthakos, Pat Cook and Paula Graham. 'No Hans' at Herongate to5 p.m. Restored and original vehicles will be on li splay with activities, for the whole family throughout the homes and shops of the village. Roots rock shows soon begmn Arni Wine and Colin James wilbe among the bands per- forming in Ajax on Thursday nights in July and August. The Canadian Roots Rock Series will be held at Annandale Golf & Country Club. April Wine will perform July 7 with opening act The Barstool Profits, and on July 14 there wil be anIle blues bill with Colin James Te Little Big Band, David Gogo and Room Full o Blues.
