This ayes parade will begin on North Street at 10:30 arn. on Satur- day, June 4 and proceed down Bald- win Street (Highway 12). The parade, organzed by Group «74, a Brook1in and area organiza- tion will-ten be marshaled east on inchester Road and continue to Anderson Street where it will then move south to the fairgrounds. 'Pick of the Crop' is the theme of this year's event, says orraizing committee chair Sharon MacRinon. Thus fer, entrants will include seven bande, a majortt group and about 20 float. Cassic-cars, old firetrucks and old farm machinery will be aznong entrants. From aznong float entries, judges will select nine winners --three for commercial float entries and six for non-commercial winners. Group 74s Liz Mitchell, Barb Cot- ton and Valerie Mitchell are super- vising the float entries. Prizes are $50 and a rosette. And a big part of the parade is the fany dress competition, for both chu den and adulte. There are five categories: fancy dress frolic, beet decorated manual transport and rider, best decorated batte,,opera eh icles and rider, best dcoratd bike and rider, and best decorated pet and han dier. Contestants will be judged in age classes of 5 and under, 6 to 8, 9 to 14 sd 15 and over. i>rzes are $6 for flrst, $5 for second and $4 for third. Ail partici- pants get a prize. Registration forms are available at both schoois in Brooklij, St. Leo and Meadowcrest, and at the Brooklin library.
