The, property -- which has sat vacant sirice the smelting plant burned down more than 20 years ago' --. should be cleaned up, regardless cf cost, if the soil is contaminated Drumm said. But even tkough they agreed that the site is "an absolute mess", the majority cf council would not support Drumm's request. Instead council opted te have Town staIf investigate the mat- ter and bring forward a recomn- mendation at a later date.
