Matt Smith opened the scoring early in the firat period banging the puck home from a scramble, with assiste going to Babcock and Pau] Hinrick. Matt Smith finished off the scoring in the third on a beautiful passng play involving Matt Foran and Heinrjck. Wbitby did not bother to show up for gamne two and were subsequently defeated 5-3 by a hustling Barrie teain. Scoring for Whitby were Foran with two and Power. Ackfiord earned two assista with one going te Paul Chornobay. Smith added two in the third period, with assiste to, Heinrick and Terry ta make the final 5-3, ensuring Whitby of the championship. As AA champs, Whitby would face the A champions, the Peterborough Potes. Despite being outshot 8-2 in the first period, Whitby managed to enter the second tied 0-0. Peterborough, however, wasted little time in taking a 1-O lead. Hard work and relentless forechecking resulted in a Smiith gol set up by Foran. The 1-1 tie was short-lived as the Potes once again took the lead early in the third.
