A group home for offenders or ex-olfenders wilI be permitted onîy within residential zones which abut collector and arterial roads as idientifled in the Town of Whitby OfficiaI Plan. A group home with 6 or more residents wiIl also be required to be separated by a minimum distance of 120 metres from any ather group home with 6 or more residents. The pur pose and effeot of By-Iaw No. 3346-93 is ta amend Zoning By-law No. 2585 to make the zoninq for a group home within the downtown area of Whitby consistent with the zaning for a g roup home in ather areas of the Municipality.
