Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. Bishop John Kriight, Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto, will celebrate the 'Annual Mass for the Faithful Departed' at Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby. The mass is celebrated slmultaneously at 7 p.m. by church leaders in the Oshawa-WThitby.Ajax area and at five other major Catholie cemeteries in Metro Toronto and surrounding areas. It is a significant event in thh church and cemetery year. For Catholics of the area, the mass offers a healing opportunity ta share their experience and corne ta terms with grief, bath old and new, in an outdoor format at the cemetery near the restirig places of loved ones. Resurrection Cemetery mass is one of the best attended of the six masses, attracting over 1,000 people. . The annual m'ass 18 one of the three busiest days of the year in the cemetery; the other two, Easter and the Feast of Ail Souls in November.
