Included in the activities is a ride (weather permitting) in a 10-storey hot air balloon. About 200 Cubs from Whitbý, Broolin, Ashburn and Myrtie are expected to take part in the camp. Jfuried art show underway at galley The Oshawa Art Association held ope gcrmne or their annuaV'uried Art Exhibition' on Thursday, May 20. 1 The Robert McLaughlin Gallery will be displaying selected entries from a variety of categories until June 6. Three jurors will review entries in the categories of oil, acrylic, wvtercolour, prints, mixed mewia, sculpture and drawing. Awards were presented for these categories during the officiai opening on May 20. Jurors l'or this year are Ernestine Tahedi, painter; Tracey Boweri, artist and art director of Scarborough Arts; and Ray Catteil, watercolour painter. Ail works on display are entries from residents of Durham Region or members of the Oshawa Art Association, and many original works are offered for sale. The Oshawa Art Association has a current membership of approximately 300, comprised of artists of ail ages and ail levels of expertise. The group meets monthly for programs and offers workshops regularly for anyone interested in attending. SINGER/SONGWRITER Garnet Rogers will perform at the Vital Spark Folk Club, 91 Centre St . S ., Oshawa on Saturday night, May 29, the final show of the club's third season. There will be an opening set by local singer- songwriter Ann Walker.
