This includes decisions fainilies make, as well as thoee that schools and cominunities inake. Rarely do we consider the impact of our decisions aV, the political level on the non-voters in our community. Imagine if Whitby's teenagers had had areal saymi the design of the new Whitby recrational complex which currently offers teenagers nothing but a pool three feet deep and an exercise facility for those over age 18. Developing a sense of connection cannot be done quickly or without a lot of effort and imagination. But it is a big patof the answer in the misuse of our world and the lack of uindersta.nding about Our obligation te care for, and respect, that which has given us life. Not surprisingly, it ja also a bigp art of improving the relationships between teenagers, their parente and other adulte. As Albert Einstein once observed, "The significant probleme we face cannot be solved at the sam e level of thinking we were at when we created them." It won't be easy, but it will be well worth the effort.
