A business will be exenipted from the new bill if it is located within two kilometres of a tour- ist attraction, if the business is directly associated with an attraction, or if the business relies on teurists visiting the attraction for business on a Sun- day or holiday. A teurist attraction may be a natural or outdoor recreational attraction, a historical attraction, a cultural attraction or an educa- tional attraction. Durhain Region may be able te, permit stores te open on holidays if they are under 2,400 square feet in area or with Iess than four employees in the business. Larger stores in size or in number of employees could be allowed te open on holidaysif they meet the above criteria. Bill 115 also states that the 2km restriction dees net apply te an area located in a inunicipality of 50,000 population or less or te a retail business establishment.
