Review of landfill search The next regular meeting of Durhamn Environinental Network (DEN) wiil take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at, West yne* public school on Michael Bld nWhitby. The guest speaker will be a representative from M.M. Dillon Linuted who will review the current search' process for a landfil site for municipal waste in Durham Region. The provincial governnent has established the Interim, Waste Authority to search for, select and establish long-terni landflll sites within the Greater Toronto Area, and Dillon bas been selected by the authority te, find a preferred site within Durhamn by August 1992. 1There will be a review of the envirormental issues survey for candidates in the November 1991 municipal elections in Durhamn Region. The survey covers a wide range of 'local environinental issues, and bas been sponsored by DEN and endorsed byl15 area environinental groups. <DEN is a non-profit volunteer organization working to facilitate discussion, education and co-operation on environinental issues among concerned individuals and environmental groups in Durhamn Region. Music and special effects are highlights of the thriller,'1711 Be Back -Before Midnight' to be presented by the Oshawa Little Theatre starting Nov. 21. Elliott took up the challenge to combine acting, sound, background and mood music, and special effects to effectively convey the thriller.
