The creation of the world and of man is the subjeet of 'The Creation, a new series by Saint John artist Herzl Kashetsky. The exhibition will be accompanied by a video explainng the artistes work. The series came about when Kashetslcy was asked te, paint somethlng on a Judaic theme for the Jewish Museumn in Saint John. H. looked to the Old Testament for inspiration and got no further than* Genesis. Yet, bis depiction of the enigins owes as much tescience as totheology. Six months of research and work went inte the project that lnvolved the study of weather, astronomy, geolofy and evolution, as well sas the scriptures. The inscriptions that encircle the paintings are in both Hebrew and the legant English of the King James version.
