In earlier tournainent action, Whitby battled the Oshawa Bruins major .atom squad, com- ing out on the losing end '6-4. Once aain O'Leary and Vinent Put themon the board with twa goals each. Coach Dave King -got his players turned around in their next twa matches as they defea- ted the Oshawa Canadians 3-2 and Peterborough 5-2. The scor- ing was spread aut in bath games, as Grant Sauter, Matt Capson and O'Lèary beat Osh-. awa, whihe David Farquharsan, Scatt Young, John Lang Sauter and O'Leary scared ta iLammer down Peterborough. On lNdv. 21, the Whitby minor atom Passpart A team defeated the cambined major - minor atom team fram Port Perry, 8-5. The Whitby coaching staff were particularly pheased with the sahid teamwork displayed. Henry sweelps Dwyer hm basketball Henry Street Hig Schaol bas- ketbafl teams ah won their games against Dwyer hast week. In senior boys' basketbalh, Henry won 58-51 in overtime. Warren Milburn had 15 points for Henr. Henry's junior boys' team alsa went into avertime ta defeat Dwyer 72-66. Matt Cook had 22 points for Henry. Kris Johnson, scored 22 points as' Henr4rwon 66-48 in a midget age boys contest against Dwyer. Whitby scored five unanswered goals in the third period ta secure the win. Ryan O'Leary led the scaring parade with three while Marýk Capson cantributed a pair. Sin- gles went ta Grant Sauter, David Farquh arson and'Jason- Irwin. Assists saw Brian Vincent with three, Gary Sauter with twa, while Jason Irwin, Scott Young O'Leary and Ryan McLeod hac one each. In another game hast week, Whitby defeated league appanent Pickering at home by a 5-0 count. Goaltender Adam Yule was steady in net as he pinned Pick- ering ta a shutout. Irwin picked up three paints an a goal and two assists while O'Leary added a pair. Young and Ca p on completed the scarngq with one goal each. Sauter and Vinent contributed twa assists each with singles from Capson and John Lang.
