On Saturday, Dec. 9, the theatre company wilI be hosting a pla Christmas preiere in the fomof a reception and dance entitled 'Hollywood on a Shoestring? Those attending are asked to be costumed as their favorite Hollywood star or character. FIrst clama accommodation, airfare, restaurants, broadway theatre production tickets and more will go ta the lucky winner. jMaeLeod pantings on display An exhibit of-laintings, includ- ing ois and watercolors by Cana- dian artist Pegi Nicol MacLeod, will be on view at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery from Dec. 14 until Jan. 5. MacLeod died in 1945. Her images of the contemporary world contributed to the first wave of Canadian modernismn in Brass band concert Dec. 14 . The Whitby Brass Band wl present its annual Christmas concert on Thursd'ay, Dec. 14, 8 p.m., at Heydenshore Pavilion. Featured will be seasonal, tradi- tional and modemn music.
